The mission of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce is to promote the planned, orderly growth and development of Alaska through strong, private sector business leadership that influences statewide economics and politics.

Established in 1953, The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce is governed by an 80-member board of directors. Twenty directors are elected by the membership mirroring Alaska State Senate election districts. Ten “at large” directors are also elected by the membership, 14 directors are appointed by the chair and one military director is appointed by the chair to represent the U.S. Armed Forces in Alaska. Each local Alaska Chamber of Commerce has an automatic directors seat on the board, and a representative from each of five chambers from outside Alaska also appoint a representative to sit on the State Chamber Board.

The Alaska State Chamber of Commerce directly represents more than 400 Alaskan businesses (paid memberships) and indirectly represents (via local chamber membership) several thousand more.

Pat Duffy represents this member entity on the PWSRCAC Board of Directors.
