Oil Spill Prevention and Response

The Oil Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) Committee works to minimize the risk and impacts associated with oil transportation through research, advice, and recommendations for strong and effective spill prevention and response measures, contingency planning, and regulations. The OSPR Committee reviews oil spill response plans (contingency plans); monitors state and federal laws and regulations; monitors and participates in oil spill drills; and investigates developments in prevention, containment, response, and cleanup technology.

Most of this committee’s projects are listed under the Oil Spill Response Operations and Oil Spill Prevention Planning sections of this site.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Oil Spill Prevention and Response Committee, please contact Outreach Coordinator Maia Draper-Reich  at 907-277-7222.
