FETCHED UP HARD AGROUND ON BLIGH REEF

Monica Jenicek Lyall, Anchorage

Fetched Up Hard Aground on Bligh Reef shows a map of the Exxon Valdez oil spill progress from Day 1 through the first week, with an oiled otter in the background.   It is from a series called "Survive in Style, Accessories for Alaskan Disasters," a show of 16 clutch purses to accessorize the boring orange safety vests you'll be wearing at the latest Alaska disaster.
Monica Jenicek Lyall I has been making fiber art since 1993. She prefers to make work with narrative content. She lives and works in Anchorage as the attorney general's special assistant.
