Sandy Gillespie, Fairbanks
“I want to communicate something of the beauty and fragility of Alaska’s shores, as well as the destructiveness that greed and lack of environmental protection are responsible for.”
Sandy Gillespie Studio is in Fairbanks, Alaska, where Gillespie has lived for 18 years. She works in oils, mixed media, and encaustics. Gillespie has had solo exhibitions in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Homer and Kenai, and she participates in juried and invitational shows throughout Alaska. Her work is in the collections of the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, the University of Alaska’s Museum of the North, and the State of Alaska’s Contemporary Art Bank, as well as many private collections.
