Community Outreach Introduction
Outreach Coordinator Linda Robinson
The council's Community Outreach program increases awareness about the council among the citizens of the Exxon Valdez oil spill region, provides these citizens with information about oil transportation issues, and solicits feedback from citizens in areas of mutual concern. The outreach coordinator travels to all Exxon Valdez oil spill communities, represents the council at public events, maintains regular contact with community leaders and council directors, identifies and encourages potential council volunteers, and brings forward ideas for projects from citizens in the PWSRCAC region.
Activities
The council participates in conferences, presentations, community celebrations, and other events throughout the year. See where we've been and what we've been doing.
Volunteer Information
The council actively recruits for new committee volunteers each year. Volunteers are appointed to one of four committees by the board in an annual application process, completed in consultation with committee chairs and staff. Find out how you can volunteer and learn more about volunteer events.

Education
Besides visiting each member community annually and tending the PWSRCAC booth at national and international events, our outreach coordinator and other staff members participate in a variety of educational efforts, including giving presentations and offering free media such as coloring books and DVDs or videos.
Youth Involvement
The council invites youth to get involved in helping keep Prince William Sound safe from oil spills. The goal is to draw young people into the organization to foster their volunteer skills and support the council's mission.
