Mako Haggerty

Kenai Peninsula Borough

Mako is a commercial fisherman by trade. He worked on the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989, both in Prince William Sound and along the outer coast of the Kenai Peninsula. He is presently a water taxi owner/operator in Homer.

Mako is the father of twin boys, Max and Lance, 31 years old. He is curious about all things related to the ocean environment.

Mako was seated on the Council’s Board of Directors in May 2015.
