Director of Administration
KJ joined the Council’s staff in January 2022 as the Director of Administration. She holds a master’s degree in Organizational Management and bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Communications. She brings years of non-profit and industry experience, having served as the Programs Director for the Alaska Safety Alliance (ASA). During her tenure with ASA, she oversaw the North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) and other health, safety, and environmental trainings for high hazard industries across Alaska. Prior to ASA, KJ held various positions with the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, and continues to advocate for education through volunteer work with the Alaska Postsecondary Access and Completion Network (AlaskaCAN).
In 2007, KJ purchased a one-way ticket to Alaska, and has proudly called the state “home” ever since. Outside of work, KJ can be found tending to her backyard gardens and flock of urban chickens, or venturing around Talkeetna where she and her husband built a log cabin by hand, using nothing more than locally sourced materials and YouTube tutorials. KJ and her husband are the proud parents of two young daughters and an elderly German Shepherd.
