In 2002, under contract from the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens' Advisory Council (PWSRCAC), C-CORE assisted in the installation of an ice detection radar on Reef Island in PWS.
The primary function of the ice detection radar is to provide a means to locate icebergs as they calve from Columbia Glacier and drift across the Sound towards the shipping lands.
