Lois Epstein

Oil Spill Region Environmental Coalition (OSREC)

Lois Epstein is a licensed professional engineer and President of LNE Engineering and Policy, a consulting firm in Anchorage. She specializes in analysis of oil and gas development, proposed transportation projects, and federal environmental agency decision making, among other topics. She consults for tribal and environmental organizations, conducting deep dive research and analysis, comment writing, invited testimony, and public communications.

Throughout her career in both Washington, D.C. and in Alaska, Lois has focused on the overlap of technology and policy, especially regarding oil and gas development and operations and new transportation infrastructure. Her work has resulted in environmental and safety improvements and prevention of environmental degradation.

Lois previously worked with The Wilderness Society, Cook Inletkeeper, Environmental Defense Fund, and two environmental consulting firms. She volunteers on the board of the Pipeline Safety Trust, a national non-profit organization that advocates for pipeline integrity and zero releases from pipelines.
